This study was attempted to estimate the mental health of bus conductoresses and to find out personal factors related to their mental health.
For these purposes, the Minnesota Multiphasic Inventory test(MMPI test) and survey of personal factors were conducted for 203 bus conductoresses.
The results are summarized as follows:
1. Scores of lie, validity, correction, hypochondriasis, hysteria, psychopathic deviate, :paranoia, psychasthenia, schizophrenia and hypomania scale were statistically higher in bus conductoresses than Korean female students, but score of masculinity femininity scale was on the contrary.
2. Any differences of score of depression and social introversion scale between bus conductoresses and Korean female students were not detected.
3. Validity scale was related to the personal factors of nativity, experience of sex acquaintance, drinking habit, utilization of entertainment, attitude to welfare condition, relationship with superior workers and job satisfaction.
4. Correction scale was related to the personal factors of relationship with superior workers and companions, and job satisfaction.
5. Hypochondriasis scale was related to the personal factors of attitude to welfare condition and relationship with superior workers.
6. Depression scale was related to the personal factors of job satisfaction and attitude to welfare condition.
7. Hysteria scale was related only to relationship with superior workers of personal factors.
8. Psychopatic deviate scale was related to the personal factors of experience of sex acquaintance and job satisfaction.
9, Paranoia scale was related to the personal factors of nativity, survival of mother, utilization of entertainment, attitude to. welfare condition and job satisfaction.
10. Psychasthenia scale was related to the personal factors of attitude to welfare condition and job satisfaction.
11. Schizophrenia scale was related to the personal factors of nativity, experience of sex acquaintance. drinking habit, utilization of entertainment, attitude to welfare condition, relationship with - superior
workers and job sat;.sfact;on.
12. Hypomania scale was related to the personal factors of nativity and survival of mother. ~
13. Social introversion scale vv-as not related to any personal factor.
